More than 120 homeowners from Eagle Pointe attended meetings on Sept. 28 at the Venue at Cahoon Plantation, where they had an opportunity to learn more and ask questions about the latest version of the proposed Four Lakes of Chesapeake community.
The current site plan reflected numerous adjustments based on Eagle Pointe residents’ feedback on the initial site plan, which had been shared in the spring of 2022. Four Lakes of Chesapeake is a master-planned 55-plus agri-community, with single-family houses and townhomes available in a development that features a working organic farm, a state-of-the-art virtual golf center, walking trails and five-star amenities.
Multiple subject matter experts were on hand to discuss specific aspects of the plan. They included:
Jack Claud, assistant director of private development at Hoggard-Eure Associates. Claud designed Eagle Pointe’s stormwater and utilities plans and is the lead for developing such plans at Four Lakes of Chesapeake.
Henry Cobb, a real estate agent with RE/MAX and The Ron Sawyer Team. Cobb is an independent real estate agent, unaffiliated with Four Lakes or Cornerstone Homes, and discussed his research and findings indicating the Four Lakes of Chesapeake community would have a positive impact on property values at Eagle Pointe and in the immediate vicinity.
Casey Jensen, founder of Eco-Cap. Jensen’s background in mitigation banking and environmental consulting provided a basis for discussing details on plans to establish a nutrient bank and place the back 9 holes of the existing golf course under a conservation easement in perpetuity.
Randy Biltz, director of production at HG Design Studio, part of VHB. Blitz spoke to specific design elements in the latest Four Lakes site plan.
Lester George, president of George Golf Design. George, a world-renowned golf course architect, was available to discuss the golf activities planned for the community.
The meetings and discussions are a vital component of the development team’s efforts to strengthen the Four Lakes of Chesapeake plan and ensure it provides the greatest value to prospective owners, homeowners in Eagle Pointe and members of the surrounding community, said Roger Glover, principal of Cornerstone Homes.
While the latest version of the site plan was well-received by the majority of attendees, the development team is reviewing feedback collected during the meeting as part of its efforts to identify additional potential adjustments, which will be shared later this fall, Glover said.
“We want to give everyone a chance to provide feedback on the latest plan and get their questions answered,” Glover said, noting feedback can be mailed directly to him at rglover@FourLakesChesapeake.com.
Over the next several weeks, Glover said, the Four Lakes team will be working with its expert consultants to distribute more details on stormwater controls and drainage, property values and the ownership and maintenance of the conservation easement. That information will be posted to www.FourLakesChesapeake.com and shared through the U.S. Postal Service.
